Bulls Travel to Atlanta and Beat Hawks

The Bulls won 98-77 on Wednesday against the Hawks in Atlanta. The Bulls continue their strong play and are ranks number 1 in the power rankings by most. The Bulls started off a bit slow and were actually outscored in the first quarter by the Hawks. In the end, they came on strong after that quarter to cruise to victory. The team is now 41-11 on the season while improving their away record to 21-6.

Deng led the way for the Bulls with 22 points in the contest, which led all scorers. Boozer added 9 rebounds to contribute to the win while Lucas had 5 assists to lead the team. The Bulls outscored the Hawks in each quarter after the first. This included a huge 33-point second quarter. They played terrific defense and only allowed the Hawks to get to 20 or more points scored in one quarter. The great play on both sides of the ball is what should earn them that number 1 power ranking as few teams play better defensively.

Bulls Get Just Fifth Loss at Home

On Monday the Bulls lost at home against the Nuggets. The loss is just the fifth for the team at home this season and brings their overall record to 40-11 this season. The team had previously won 20 out of 24 games at home this season. The team simply was not at their best on the night against an underrated Nuggets team. The Nuggets beat the Bulls on both sides of the court and cruised to an easy victory. The Bulls must look past the loss and continue their focus as they try and get home field advantage for the playoffs.

Watson was the Bulls leading scorer with just 17. He also led the team in assist with 8. The Bulls were beat on the scoreboard in just about every quarter minus the opening period when they outscored the Nuggets 27-25. They were still outscored 54-52 in the first half and were destroyed in the second half scoring just 39 points to 54 points scored by Denver. The Bulls worst period came in the third when they scored just 16 points.

Bulls Squeak out a Close One in OT

The Bulls won 102-101 in a very tight match up against the Raptors that needed overtime to decide a winner. The game was in Chicago and featured the Bulls looking to avoid just their 5th home loss. They were able to do that and improved their overall record to 40-10 while increasing their home record to 20-4 this year. The team started off slow as they fell behind early, but rallied to tie the game and eventually win it in OT.

Boozer led the Bulls with 24 points scored. Lucas contributed to the win by leading the team in assist with 6. The Bulls fell behind by ten after being outscored 30-20 in the first. They cut into the lead in the second as they outscored the Raptors 30-25. After that they nickel and dimed the Raptors to tie the game at the end of regulation. In the OT, they outscored Toronto 8-7 to earn the one-point lead.

Magic Stunned by Bulls at Home

The Bulls made a mockery of the Orlando Magic on Monday in what was a strange victory for the away team. The Bulls ended up winning 85-59, yes that’s right 59, to the Magic team who were at home. The game was simply odd as the Magic are used to scoring 59 in a half. The Bulls improve their record to 38-10 with the win and are 19-6 away from home this year.

Bears Reunite Cutler with Marshall

The Bears traded to get Brandon Marshall from the Miami Dolphins on Wednesday in what may be one of the cheapest trades in recent memory. Marshall, who played for the Denver Broncos with Bear’s quarterback Jay Cutler years earlier, was obtained by the Bears who had to only give up two 3rd rounds picks for the receiver. This is quite simply an amazing deal for the Bears who made out like bandits in this case. The only question I have is why and how?

Sue Marshall was a distraction for the Dolphins team. He was constantly talking poorly about his quarterbacks. Can you blame him though? He certainly was under utilized and had very little talent at the position. He also did have off the field issues as well. Most recently, it was just found out that Marshall had struck a woman earlier this week. No charges had been filed, but apparently he intervened after a bottle was broken over his wife’s face/head. This certainly could not have been the straw that broke the camels back, could it have?

Should the Bulls get Dwight Howard?

With all of the talk about Dwight Howard, is it a good idea for the Chicago Bulls to go and get him. The Bulls are hot right now and Tom Thibodeau is an outstanding coach and even with Rose and Deng out for a while, the Chicago Bulls have the best record in the NBA with 33-9.

Adding Howard should be to the advantage of the Bulls, but it might disturb the team chemistry that already exists currently. I have always liked Joakim Noah and the passion and intensity that he brings to the game with his plays that can get the team and the crowd going. It will be a pretty hard call for me whether to replace Noah with Howard as great as the Magic center is.

The problem is that it is not going to be just a Noah for Howard trade. The Bulls might have to give up Noah and Luol Deng and maybe even Carlos Boozer. It is true that Howard is a strong defensive player that will fit perfectly with Derrick Rose and the strong leadership that the Bulls have that could take Chicago past Miami in terms of winning the Eastern Conference Championship.

Bulls get 6th Straight Despite Tough Road Game

The Bulls won in Philly against the first place 76ers, which brought their win streak to 6 straight. The team has yet to lose since the all-star break and improved their record to 31-8 with the latest win. The team also improved their road record to 17-6 with the victory Sunday. The Bulls will now look to further distance themselves from the rest of the league as they try to lock up home field for a probable playoff run.

Bulls Defeat Cavaliers Minus Irving

The Bulls won 112 to 91 on Friday in Cleveland. The team finally was able to produce more offense as they have been sub 100 points more often then not as of late. The team Shot well and had the added help of not having to deal with Cleveland’s rising star Kyrie Irving who was out. The Bulls are now 30-8 on the year while they improve their road record to 16-6 this season. The team will look to improve on these marks as they continue their quest to get an NBA championship this season.

Bulls Statement Game

The Bulls won their second in a row since the all-star break by getting past the first-place Spurs on Wednesday. The game, more impressively, came on the road for the Bulls. It was a big team win and showed that the Bulls are certainly front-runners this season. In the end, the team won 96-89 in Texas. The win brings the team’s record to 29-8 on the season now while improving their road record to 15-6 season. They were led, once again, by the play of Rose.

Derrick Rose led the team in points with 29. Also again, Noah led the team in rebounds by grabbing 13 boards. Noah is continuously leading the team in this category and brings the physicality that the team needs to compliment Rose’s finesse. The team scored 30 plus in two of the game’s quarters. They did have struggles after halftime when they scored just 15. The game was 65-66 in favor of the Spurs following that period. A 31-23 fourth quarter, in favor of the Bulls, gave them the victory in the end.

Bulls Continue Great Home Basketball Campaign

The Bulls moved their record to 28-8 on Tuesday thanks to a big effort by their MVP Derrick Rose. Rose led the team to their 14th home victory of the year. The team has lost just 2 contests at home this season. The 99-95 victory came against a poor Hornet’s team that has just recently began to play teams competitively. They remained competitive in this contest, but did not have enough in the end. The Hornets are in the NBA’s basement and will remain there, but can play spoiler the rest of the year. Meanwhile the Bulls must continue to win and try for the top seed in the playoffs.
